If what I see doesn’t immediately generate a pattern, I block it.
Day 20: I hear Holy Spirit speaking to me differently from how I hear people talking to me. As an add-on to hearing, I’d love to see things from the realm where Holy Spirit is. But unfortunately, if I get just a glimmer of something showing up in the physical world, I flinch or gasp.
As a result of flinching, I immediately disagree with my eyes because I don’t have a pattern that fits whatever that new thing was that I just saw. So disappointing!
Kind of crazy, I know. It fascinates me, though. When I connect with Spirit in the River of Grace (the Unified Space), I feel a palpable presence that surrounds me.
Today’s lesson offers hope, “God has one Son, and he is the resurrection and the life. His will is done because all power is given him in Heaven and on earth. In your determination to see is vision given you.“
To see or not to see? That is the question.
Seeing vs Perceiving: Seeing is the gathering of shapes and images entered through the eyes. Perceiving is making order out of it. Recognizing the pattern in your mind.
The ACIM Workbook Lesson 20 notes, “Yet you will not see if you regard yourself as being coerced, and if you give in to resentment and opposition… You want salvation. You want to be happy. You want peace. You do not have them now, because your mind is totally undisciplined, and you cannot distinguish between joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, love and fear. You are now learning how to tell them apart. And great indeed will be your reward.”
Purpose of Demon Spotting: To clear space in your busy mind (River of Shame) allowing you to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit (from the River of Grace) helping you plan your escape from the miserable traps you’re stuck in.
Holy Spirit teaches you how to see what’s in your blind spot.
My questions for Holy Spirit are, “Once I’m standing still, what else is getting in the way of my seeing? Is it the seeing or the perceiving that’s the problem? How do I see with Christ’s vision? Are you talking about seeing with my eyes, or is it a new understanding about something… like when the Demon Spotting code words unlock a new point of view on a situation?”
Will you stand still and look to see what Holy Spirit is showing you in the Unified Space (River of Grace)?

The Kingdom of Heaven is spread out everywhere. It’s all around us, yet we’re not seeing it. There is always a real picture, a real vision, a reality to sense and experience that God has given us. We will have that when that is what we singularly desire. It’s always beautiful, perfect, and peaceful.
