Looking through a glass, darkly. What’s in your blind spot?
Day 10: Are you willing to consider the possibility that it is common to hear a demon speaking to you inside your head? By contrast, it is remarkable to hear the Holy Spirit, Jesus and your Heavenly Father speaking to you inside your head.
Spiritual Obscurity: We experience God and divine realities dimly, like a riddle or an enigma, rather than with full understanding.
Anyone who says they never hear the voice of Spirit, or that they never hear from God, is letting everyone know that they only hear the influence and whispers of demon (the opponents) voices in their heads.
When you hear from one or all members of the Holy Trinity (Heavenly Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit), you gain access to a blind spot. Either by action taken to obey a clear direction given to you by Team Trinity, or you gain understanding through the information you receive. Your eyes are opened — and you see something that wasn’t present before.
Something that was hiding inside your blind spot.
We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God [Holy Spirit] sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!

Is your blind spot a result of demonic interference?
The ACIM Course stresses that the way you see now (with demonic interference) may be different from the way things actually are. That is why practice requires willingness to be confused about which way is up and which way is down.
When Spirit speaks, you hear truth. When demons speak, they cloud your thinking with nonsense, discord, separateness and pure evil.
Back to the ACIM Course, I wonder if, when our mind is a blank slate, does that mean the demons are silenced because we are consciously choosing not to listen to them?
Recognizing when you reach a blank slate space is a “prerequisite for vision.” (ACIM Lesson 10)
Now, Spirit has an opportunity to speak into a unified mind without outside interference from demon opponents. And he can show you something that you need to see inside your blind spot.
What is meant by meaningless thoughts?
ACIM Lesson 10 Workbook: “This aspect of the correction process began with the idea that the thoughts of which you are aware are meaningless, outside rather than within; and then, stressed their past rather than their present status.”
So, if your mind is being washed by demon voices, they might be pumping you up, feeding your ego with compliments.
Or they might be engaged in doing the exact opposite, leaving you feeling worthless. These words describe some of the thoughts you think with your busy mind: pointless, insignificant, useless, empty, trivial, absurd, fruitless, aimless, purposeless, futile, hollow and in vain.
Demons love bringing up the past to cause guilty feelings. They love stopping you from feeling confident about moving forward.
As already stated above, if these thoughts are coming from outside rather than within, then continue along on this journey with me. Learn how to block the voices keeping you in the busy, split mind zone.
Practice blocking the meaningless voices, and through the smallest of cracks or spaces, Spirit will flow through. Guidance follows when you’re willing to receive.
When you take action to free yourself from the trap, you’ll catch a glimpse of what’s in your blind spot.
And that is a worthy goal indeed.
