Your busy mind is like an unskilled rock-em sock-em robot, punishing peace and pushing it away.
A lifeguard can’t rescue a drowning person unless the person surrenders.
In fear and fright, thrashing around and trying to push your rescuer under the water so that you can survive, guarantees that both will drown.
All of your fighting back with recollections from the past about why God can’t be trusted and nothing ever works out for you, ends up proving your point.
Consequently, your Heavenly Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Team Trinity) retreat to a neutral corner.
If and when you calm down and are open to listen, they will return. But only if you invite them back.
Surrender the past to hear the truth in the right way at the right time.

Being stuck in the busy (split) mind creates noise, stress, distraction and keeps us frantically searching for peace.
When you shift your point of view, and step outside the mayhem for a moment, you can see that the split mind IS the opponent.
Imagine watching yourself in the split mind zone (The River of Shame), swirling around and trying to keep the boat from rocking.
Worse, imagine seeing one of your kids stuck there, in the boat. You would panic! You’d call them on the clue phone and shout that they’re in a false game. “It’s not real!”
Clue Phone: An imaginary phone, whose futile hope, is to alert the terminally oblivious to reality.
Learn how to escape the traps in your busy, split mind.
But you wouldn’t know how to advise them to help them escape from the dream. Only Holy Spirit can show you the off-ramp. He’s the one who prepares you to feel safe while you’re letting go of what you believe to be true.
Therefore, if you want to identify Split Mind as the opponent, and learn how to escape, then your preparation includes studying:
- how you got trapped,
- who set the trap,
- how to escape the trap,
- and how to make sure you don’t get trapped again.
And that is at the heart of my Demon Spotting game. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for giving us access to escape the madness and awake from this dream.
